I invented bifocals which could let me see far and near sighted. I did not "invent" electricity, I did invent the lighting rod which protected buildings and ships from lightning damage. I invented the first library too. Since people used fire places to warm their houses which was very dangerous, I invented the Franklin Stove which was an iron stove that let people warm their houses safely and using less wood. I also established the first fire company and fire insurance. In my old age, I retired from business and public service to spend my time reading. I found that reaching books at the top was difficult so I made a long arm. It was a long wooden pole with a grasping claw at the end.
