Network Accounts Network accounts provide access to the TISD network for use of the Internet, Intranet, and Extranet via system of user names and passwords. Both are assigned and set up for students and staff through the TISD Technology Department. To operate a TISD computer within the district, the user name and password is typed into a login screen as demonstrated in the example below. Substitute your own first name and last name and password in the appropriate places. Notice that your password appears as a series of stars. This is to ensure that someone looking over your shoulder cannot observe what you have typed. If you have difficulty logging in be sure that you do not have the Caps Lock key pressed as passwords are case sensitive. Likewise, if your password contains numbers and you use the number pad on the keyboard be sure that the Num Lk key has been selected.
To login to the TISD Extranet visit the TISD Web Site and click either the Staff or Email buttons. Fill out the login screen as shown below. Notice that you must include the letters TISD before your user name when logging in from the Internet. This is because the World Wide Web is outside the district. This is why you must identify the network that you are logging into. Don't forget to separate this from your user name with a back slash. (example: tisd\firstname.lastname)
Should you have difficulty logging in to the Extranet from home or if you would like more information about this process please read our Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs). This page of FAQs can also be located by pulling down the "Quick Links" drop down menu on the TISD home page.
