Frequently Asked Questions

Who should fill out a TISD application online?

You should use the online application process for Professional Educators
if you are a professional educator applying for one of the following positions:
teacher, coach, librarian, counselor, diagnostician, speech pathologist,
occupational therapist, physical therapist, LSSP, diagnostician, psychologist,
administrator, principal, or other professional.

You should use the online application process for Paraprofessionals if you
are applying for a position as a teaching assistant, secretarial or clerical
position, technology, accounting or nursing position.

How can I print the page so that it doesn't run off the side of the paper?

The printed page may appear differently depending upon the fonts
and configuration of your computer. To adapt for this universal problem,
simply select Page Setup from your file menu before you print. Reduce
the size of the print from 100% to something smaller like 80% and you
should find that the printing can be adjusted to fit the page. If you prefer
a larger size font, you may also select to print in landscape format.

Will I need to mail any other documents to TISD?

Yes, professional educators will need to send in the following:

  • Cover Letter
  • Resume
  • Copies of Transcripts
  • References
  • Official Reference Form (PDF File)
  • Criminal History Release Form
  • Teaching Certificates
Yes, paraprofessionals will need to send in the following:
  • Cover Letter
  • Resume (optional)
  • Criminal History Release Form

Can I obtain copies of some of these forms online?

Yes, these forms are available online on the TISD website as
PDF files that you may download from the online registration pages.

Is my information confidential?

Your information will be shared with those individuals directly
involved in the hiring process for the position to which you are
applying. As a public entity, your application is considered
a public document and is subject to disclosure upon request.

Can I edit my application after it has been submitted?No, but you may return at any time to submit an updated application.

How long will my application be considered active?Your application will be considered active for a year after it has been submitted. At the end of that time period, you should either
contact the TISD Human Resources Department to extend your
application, or submit your application again
