Temple ISD participates in the School Breakfast and School Lunch Program.  School menus are planned to meet the required levels of calories and key nutrients for specific grades or age groups for breakfast or lunch.  Menus are analyzed over a school week to meet the standards for the appropriate grade or age group and to assure that the week does not exceed 30% of calories from fat or 10% of calories from saturated fat.

Breakfast menus are designed to meet one-fourth of the recommended Dietary Allowances and lunch menus are designed to meet one-third of the Recommended Dietary Allowances for calories, protein, iron, calcium, Vitamin A and Vitamin C.

Lunch consists of an entrée, two sides (fruit, vegetables or salad, bread which may be included with the entrée or separate) and a choice of milk. Students must select the entrée. A minimum of two different items must be selected up to a maximum of four items. Meals are priced as a unit or may be purchased a la carte.

Free and reduced breakfast and lunch is available for qualifying students. Payments may be made directly at each campus through the cafeteria manager or online through Meal Pay. Summer Meal Programs for students are also available each year at several locations.
