Safe and secure schools are a priority to the Temple Board of Trustees, Central and Campus Administration, Classroom Teachers and all TISD Support Personnel.

Listed below are some of the measures and precautions Temple ISD has in place to ensure safe and secure schools:

  • Strong Partnership with the Temple Police Department and Temple Fire & Rescue
  • Staff Development concerning safety issues
  • Employee Name Badges
  • Visitor Badges
  • Crisis Management Procedure Manual

Parents should become familiar with the Student Handbook and Code of Conduct for their child’s school, paying particular attention to safety and security concerns. Questions concerning school safety should be directed to the school principal or the School Safety Coordinator at (254) 215-6818.

Crisis Management Plan

TISD cares about the safety of our students and staff and, as such, the Crisis Management Plan has been developed to serve as a reference for school personnel to use as they prepare for emergencies or crisis situations.

The purpose of the TISD Crisis Management Plan is to provide personnel in the Temple Independent School District with a better understanding of their authority, responsibilities and duties as they protect the students entrusted to their care.

The TISD Crisis Management Plan has four phases of Crisis Planning:

  • Prevention/Mitigation
  • Preparedness
  • Response
  • Recovery

The School Safety Coordinator provides constant training for District staff and students in emergency response procedures.

The TISD Crisis Management Plan provides steps to coordinate with:

  • Local Law Enforcement
  • Public Safety
  • Public Health
  • Mental Health Agencies
  • Local Government

Parents and guardians may view a copy of the Crisis Management Plan at the Central Administration Offices.
