Career & Technology Strands

Temple ISD supports three strands in its Career & Technology Program:  Health Science, Manufacturing and Logistics, and Information Technology.

Dual Language

Hector P. Garcia Elementary is a  Two-Way Dual Language campus, where students who are native Spanish speakers and students who are native English speakers are taught together in both languages in order to become academically bilingual.

International Baccalaureate® (IB)

Temple High School has been an International Baccalaureate® (IB) Diploma Programme School since 1992.  Travis Science Academy is an International Baccalaureate® (IB) Middle Years Programme (MYP) School.  Scott Elementary is an IB candidate school.

Fine Arts

Temple ISD has many fine arts offerings that span elementary through high school.  Elementary schools offer general music, orchestra, and art.  Middle schools offer art, band, choir, orchestra, and theatre arts.  High school fine arts programs include art, band, choir, dance, orchestra, and theatre arts.

World Languages

At the elementary level, students can apply to attend the district's dual language academy, H. P Garcia Elementary, or attend Scott Elementary where an introduction to German is offered as a part of the Primary Years Programme (IB).  At the middle school level, students may take an exploratory language course, Spanish I for high school credit, or German, the last language being offered at Travis Science Academy.  Temple High School offers French, German, Spanish, and Latin.

Technology is an integral part of the learning process in Temple ISD. There is a 2:1 students:devices program for grades K-8. Temple High School has a 1:1 student:device program where students are issued a Chromebook freshman year. When students graduate from THS, they may take the device with them to college or the workplace.
