Denise Ayres » Biography


As a blended educator and business professional, Denise Ayres joined the Temple Independent School District team as the Director of Career & Technical Education in 2014. After graduating from Stephen F. Austin State University with a Bachelor of Science in Education, she began her career as a classroom teacher in Mesquite ISD teaching middle school Deaf students. She then advanced to collaboratively design and implement an American Sign Language Program for high school students. Her classroom experience and passionate desire to see students grow both academically and emotionally lead Denise to begin working with a Houston based non-profit agency implementing violence prevention and mediation programs across multiple school districts, consulting with and training administrators, faculty, staff and students.


Denise transitioned from the education arena to the business world in 2008 at which time she invested her talents in organizational development by building collaborative partnerships to promote new business with KAH Architects in the Austin/Round Rock area. Her experience extended to serving on the City of Georgetown Rivery Park TIRZ (Tax Increment Reinvestment Zone) Board of Directors, the Council of Education Facility Planners International (CEFPI) and Round Rock Partners in Education Foundation. She also chaired the Taking Hutto Higher Political Action Committee and served as President for the Hutto Education Foundation.


Before joining Temple ISD, Denise worked with Education Service Center Region 12 as a Marketing Specialist and served as the Director of the Technology Education Foundation. As a Temple resident and dedicated educator, she now serves on the Go2Work Council and the Temple Police Academy Board of Directors. She also serves as President for the P20 Central Texas Regional Council and was appointed by TEA to serve on the Texas Career & Technical Education Leadership Committee. 


Denise is married to Charley Ayres, Director of Industry & Education Partnerships with Workforce Solutions of Central Texas. Together, they enjoy mountain biking, traveling, football and baseball.
