Temple ISD

Temple ISD will host an event for parents of middle school and high school English language learners from 5:30-7 p.m. Sept. 19 at the Freeman Heights Administrative Offices, 300 S. 27th St. in Temple. The meeting will begin with a whole group presentation, and then break off into breakout sessions where parents can update their information in Skyward as well as review attendance, grading, and graduation requirements. Light refreshments will be served.

 

All Temple ISD middle schools will hold an open house from 5–6 p.m. on Sept. 21.

 

Hector P. Garcia Elementary School

Hector P. Garcia will hold a Constitution Parade on Friday from 9:30-10:30 a.m.  

 

Kennedy-Powell Elementary School

Kennedy-Powell Elementary School will host two open house events. Open house for kindergarten through second grade will be held 5:30-6:30 p.m. tonight. Open house for third through fifth grades will be held on from 5:30-6:30 p.m. Thursday. For questions, call 254-215-2000.

Grandparents are invited to join their grandchildren for lunch this week.

Lamar Middle School

Lamar Middle School students will participate in a flag raising ceremony this morning at 8 a.m. outside of the school.

Meridith-Dunbar Early Childhood Academy

TISD is offering full-day prekindergarten for 4-year-olds. For more information and to register call 254-215-6700 or stop by the school at 1717 E. Ave. J in Temple.

Raye-Allen Elementary School

Raye-Allen Elementary School will celebrate Constitution Week this week. This morning beginning at 8:30 a.m.  a Freedom Walk around the school will be held with students and Adopt-A-Unit soldiers from Fort Hood. A walk will take place every hour on the half hour through the morning.

Temple High School

Temple High School will hold an open house and college fair Tuesday night from 5-7 p.m.

Thornton Elementary School

Thornton Elementary School students and staff will gather around the flagpole at 8 a.m. this morning.  After the raising of the flags, students will say the pledges, and sing “You’re a Grand Old Flag.”  The fourth and fifth grade students will sing “The Star-Spangled Banner” and “We Remember”.  Students will build symbols of freedom out of recyclables for display.

Western Hills Elementary School

Western Hills Elementary School invites all dads to a Watch DOGS (Dads of Great Students) information night on Wednesday from 5:45-6:30 p.m.
