Our Story

Temple ISD is a diverse, vibrant 6A school district in Central Texas with more than 8,700 students excelling in advanced academics, fine arts, athletics and career & technology education programs.  Over 200 National Merit Scholar Award Winners have graduated from Temple High School and our students have exceeded state and national SAT/ACT averages for more than 15 consecutive years. 
 
Temple ISD’s mission to inspire, motivate, and empower students to reach their maximum potential is achieved through innovative approaches such as blended learning, International Baccalaureate K-12, Project Lead the Way, and college and business partnerships.  Most important, though, are our passionate teachers and staff members who go above and beyond every day and are dedicated to making sure every child succeeds.

Trustees approve land purchase in southeast Temple

The Temple Independent School District Board of Trustees unanimously approved the purchase of 47 acres in southeast Temple Monday night. This proactive action was recommended to the board by district administration in response to an enrollment projection study presented by Templeton Demographics in October.

TISD counselors receive state recognition

Fourteen Temple Independent School District counselors, representing 10 different campuses, have been awarded a 2019 Counselors Reinforcing Excellence for Students in Texas (CREST) Award. This annual recognition is awarded by the Texas School Counselor Association for counselors who meet at least six of eight standards: principal’s comments, school counseling and advisory council, school climate and safety, student results, major achievements, community partnerships/resources, parent collaboration and the technical details of their submissions.

Temple ISD receives "superior" rating for financial accountability

The Temple Independent School District held a public hearing during the school board’s regular meeting on Monday, Dec. 10 regarding its financial accountability rating for fiscal year 2017-2018. The Texas Education Agency awarded the district a superior rating — the highest attainable rating.
