TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple High School Theatre Arts One-Act Play will advance to Bi-District competition after finishing as the top performance at the District 12-6A One-Act Play contest Saturday in Waco,
Temple High School is performing an updated version of Williams Shakespeare’s “Othello” with a more modern setting. In addition to earning the right to move on to Bi-District, Temple High School’s production also had several cast and crew members earn individual recognition. Michael Walters was named Outstanding Technician, Shaylee Whiteley was recognized as the Overall Best Technician, Major Linzy was recognized on the All-Star Cast, Jered Wozniak was named Best Performer, and Avery Morris earned Honorable Mention. Midway High School and Bryan High School were the other two Bi-District qualifiers from the District 12-6A competition.
The three District 12-6A qualifiers will join with the top three finishers from District 11-6A in the Bi-District competition. Bi-District will be held March 28th at Midway High School. The top three finishers at Bi-District will advance to the Area Competition. The Area Contest will also be held at Midway High School on April 11th.
