TISD Information Technology

The Information Technology department supports the goals of Temple ISD to provide quality technology to faculty, staff and students to create a more meaningful learning experience.

 

Under the direction of the Chief Technology Officer, technical support and technology resources is provided by the teams below:

Administrative

 

The Administrative team consists of the Chief Technology Officer, Director of Infrastructure and Security, department’s secretary.  The team works to ensure the smooth day-to-day operation of the technology department and accessibility of resources to district users.   They assist campuses and departments with technology purchases.  The team manages the technology budget, special technology funds, and technology related grants. The team works with other departments to meet state and federal mandates, provides technology resources for curriculum, as well as long-range technology planning for the district. 

District Technical Services

 

The District Technical Services team includes a help desk and six field technicians that is staffed each school day (usually from 7:30 AM – 5:00 PM).  Team members perform an assortment of jobs, including troubleshooting problems that end users encounter, installing software, troubleshooting and installing auxiliary equipment (phones, cameras, projectors, etc.), upgrading computers, reporting and installing warranty parts, install and setup of new equipment.

District Network Services

 

The District Network Services team includes a network administrator, system administrator, and endpoint specialist. Together they provide support for the "behind the scenes" aspects of technology within TISD.  They are responsible for the installation, maintenance, and troubleshooting of the network infrastructure, servers, and telephone systems positioned throughout the district.  In addition, they are responsible for the connectivity between the campuses to create the district Wide Area Network (WAN) as well as maintaining a secure network to ensure a safe learning environment.
