THS Theatre Begins Defending One-Act Play State Championship

Temple High School Theatre will begin defending their 2016 5A One-Act Play State Championship on Tuesday, March 21 at the district competition at College Station High School (4002 Victoria Ave, College Station, TX 77845).

 

Seven District 18-5A schools will compete, with Temple performing 5th around 5:20 p.m. Three of the seven schools will advance to the bi-district competition on Saturday, March 25 at University High School in Waco.

 

This year THS Theatre will perform Hedda Gabler, by Henrik Ibsen.  The play is set in the 1890s in Kristiania (now Olso), Norway.

Hedda Gabler Tesman = Emma Tolleson (2016 5A Samuel French Award Winner - Best Overall)
George Tesman, Hedda's husband = Andrew Tye (2016 5A Best Actor)
Eilert Lövborg, George's former colleague and publishing competitor = Benjamin Clardy
Thea Elvsted, younger schoolmate of Hedda = Adara Felix
Judge Brack, an unscrupulous family friend = Dylan Prather
Miss Juliana Tesman, George's loving aunt who raised him since childhood = Arreyon Blocker
Berte, servant of the Tesmans = Rebecca Alley

The UIL Five-Person Crew includes Gabe Fontanez, Samuel Little, Seth Little, Bailee Poelker and Callie Ortega. UIL Alternates include Chantal Cyrus, Anaiya Harris, Allison Quiroz and Gabriel Salazar.

The On-Site Crew includes Brianna Alexander, Sierra Amalbert, Alante Anderson, Baylee Black, Christopher Brown, Olivia Cabrera, Torrie Culp, Kerynn Eckenrode, Jonathan Equels, Ricardo Fontanez, Michael Jones, Simon Juarez, Morgan Madsen, Isabel Poehlmann, Robert Solar and D’Andre Wright.

Directors are Natasha Tolleson, Brad LaMotte and Kayla Stewart.
