Advanced Academics for Grades 6-12

Temple ISD’s Advanced Academics Program provides quality educational experiences with rigor, depth and complexity for students requiring a differentiated approach to their education.  

Temple ISD offers a continuum of educational opportunities for identified gifted and talented students with advanced academic needs from kindergarten through grade 12.  Advanced learners in grades 6, 7 and 8 are provided advanced instruction in the core areas of language arts, social studies, science and math. Student schedules are individualized based on students’ areas of strength and achievement. Advanced Academics students at the high school level are channeled into the International Baccalaureate Diploma Programme Global Perspectives in Society in their freshman year, and encouraged to follow the Advanced Placement or Diploma Programme route to graduation. The District covers end of year testing fees for any students enrolled in AP and IB courses.
