Temple ISD Names Chad President as New Head Football Coach at Temple High School
January 31, 2025
Temple ISD is excited to announce Chad President as the new Head Football Coach for Temple High School. He will succeed Scott Stewart, who is stepping down to pursue new coaching opportunities.
“Our committee conducted a thorough search, reviewing nearly 50 strong applicants from across the state, and we are proud to name Coach Chad President as our next Head Football Coach,” said Steve Prentiss, Temple ISD Director of Athletics. “From the start, Coach President stood out for his leadership, knowledge, and character, all of which make him the perfect fit to lead our football program. We look forward to seeing the program continue to grow under his guidance.”
Coach President, a 2015 Temple High School graduate, earned his Bachelor’s degree in Exercise Sports Science from the University of Tulsa in 2019. His high school career includes leading the Temple Wildcats to the Class 5A State Championship runner-up title in 2014, and he later earned a football scholarship to the University of Tulsa.
Coach President began his coaching career as the offensive coordinator at Rockwall Heath High School from 2019 to 2022, before moving to Midway High School in 2023 in the same role. In January 2024, he returned to Temple High School as offensive coordinator. His coaching accomplishments include leading teams to five consecutive playoff appearances, averaging 50 points per game in 2020, and posting over 400 yards per game over the past three years at three different schools.
“Coach President has demonstrated the right priorities as a coach -- he’s in the hallways and classrooms monitoring grades and supporting teachers, he attends community and second sport events, and he is responsive to students, parents and assistant coaches.” Said Dr. Bobby Ott, Superintendent of Temple ISD. “Coach President represents the fabric of Temple, Texas, and it was obvious during the interview process that this is more than a job – it is personal. The students, staff, and community have his heart, and he is ready to serve. He earned it.”
We are confident Coach President will make a lasting, positive impact on our football program.
