Temple ISD Trustees Canvass Election 2025 Results

TEMPLE, Texas — The results of Temple Independent School District’s Election 2025 are now official after the TISD Board of Trustees canvassed the votes during a special called meeting Monday afternoon (November 17).

The now official results show Temple ISD’s Proposition A passing with 59.3 % of the vote with 3,418 votes for and 2,340 votes against. Proposition B passed with 57.3 % of the vote with 3,297 votes for and 2,455 votes against.

Proposition A was a tax ratification election that will provide an addition $2.75 million annually for safety and security needs across the district. Proposition B was a $119.7 million bond election aimed at adding permanent additional classrooms at existing campuses to address growth and keep students out of portables.

“The board is so grateful for the community’s support both in helping Temple ISD develop the list of priorities and projects included in the two propositions, and for their overwhelming vote of confidence in approving both propositions,” said Dan Posey, president of the Temple ISD board of trustees. “We are looking forward to beginning work to ensure that all of the projects are delivered in a way that meets the expectations of our students, families, staff, and community.”

Now that the votes have been canvassed and results are official, Temple ISD can begin the next steps. Those steps include making purchases for the hardening of facilities, working with the City of Temple to line out required training for police officers to begin adding School Resource Officers (SROs) to elementary campuses, hiring construction firms, the sale of bonds to fund projects, the assignment of projects to both architects and construction management teams, and the production of a tentative construction timeline.
