Temple HS One-Act Play Advances to UIL Area Contest

TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple High School Theatre Arts One-Act Play has moved one step closer to competing for a state championship after advancing to the UIL Area competition after finishing with a top performance at the Bi-District One-Act Play contest Saturday in Waco.

Temple High School is performing an updated version of Williams Shakespeare’s “Othello” with a more modern setting. In addition to earning the right to move on to Area, Temple High School’s production also had several cast and crew members earn individual recognition. Ellora Rounds was named All-Star Technician, Major Linzy and Jered Wozniak were both recognized on the All-Star Cast, and Konnor Fraser and Avery Morris earned Honorable Mention.

The top three performers at the Bi-District Contest earned spots in the Area Competition. The Area Contest will also be held at Midway High School on April 11th. The top three finishers in Area will advance to the Regional Competition on April 25th at University High School in Waco.
