Temple ISD Names Tijuana Hudson Assistant Superintendent of Student Services

TEMPLE, Texas — The Temple Independent School District Board of Trustees approved veteran Texas educator Tijuana Hudson as Assistant Superintendent of Student Services during Monday night’s (April 13) monthly meeting.

Ms. Hudson comes to Temple ISD from Duncanville ISD, where she currently serves as the Executive Director of Student Services and Campus Support. She previously served as a math teacher, school counselor, assistant principal, and principal in Duncanville ISD.

Throughout her career, Ms. Hudson has developed expertise in professional development and student support systems. She is recognized for her ability to align people, processes, and data to improve attendance, behavior, and academic performance across diverse school settings. She leads with intentionality, humility, and a deep belief in developing people, strengthening relationships, and creating environments where both students and educators thrive.

“Her prior successes and experiences were portable and aligned perfectly to this current position,” said Dr. Bobby Ott, superintendent of schools for Temple ISD. “She has an impressive blend of compassion, high expectations, and systems thinking. We are excited to welcome her to the Wildcat family!”

Hudson earned a Bachelor of Science in Education from Emporia State University, and a Master’s Degree in Counseling from Texas A&M University-Commerce. She obtained her Principal Certification from Lamar University and her Superintendent Certification from Texas A&M University-Commerce.

As a former military-dependent student who attended schools across multiple states and overseas, Ms. Hudson brings a personal understanding of the importance of stable, student-centered systems to her role.

“What drew me to Temple ISD was the work happening through Holdsworth, that level of investment in people, and systems, and leadership development spoke volumes about the district’s long-term vision and commitment to building strong systems of support for both students and staff,” Hudson said. “As I moved through the interview process, what really brought Temple home to me was the people. There was consistency and alignment with the vision with everyone I met, and everyone is moving in the same direction in Temple ISD. I am excited about becoming a part of that community. This is an opportunity to be part of a district where the foundation is already in place, and I can contribute alongside a team that is focused on growing and improving and making an impact on student outcomes. I am also really looking forward to laying roots in Temple and making it my true home.”
