TEMPLE, Texas — Campuses across Temple Independent School District paid tribute to the remembrance of 9/11 with a variety of events on Friday (September 11).
Students sang patriotic songs during announcements, attended events or programs focusing on unity and community, and participated in Freedom Walks to mark the 25th remembrance of 9/11. Several campuses also hosted military veterans or current members of the armed forces for breakfast or coffee with students and staff members. There were also events to recognize and thank first responders.
The common theme was to remember those who lost their lives or were impacted by the events of that day and to say thank you and honor those who currently serve the community.
