Get Your Local Weather Conditions from Kennedy-Powell's WeatherBug!

Kennedy-Powell Elementary School is now the first school in Temple to be featured as a WeatherBug site!

The company installed the equipment in January, and now, using the WeatherBug app or at www.weatherbug.com you can always get your local weather conditions from Kennedy-Powell.

While it's added convenience for you, it's an important learning tool for the Project Lead The Way program at K-P.

Now, both in the PLTW class and in their regular classrooms, teachers will use the weather equipment, information, and added features from the WeatherBug site to teach students about math and science, including meteorology.

This WeatherBug station at K-P was made possible through an Innovative Teaching Grant, awarded by the Temple Education Foundation.

The grant for $8,990 was the largest awarded this school year, and won the Superintendent's Award for Creativity.

If you have a student at K-P, please ask them about their new weather station at school, and take a look at local media coverage below:

Kennedy-Powell Elementary an official WeatherBug site

Kennedy-Powell Elementary School in Temple is now an official site for WeatherBug, thanks to its new weather station that provides live weather data to users across the world. Kennedy-Powell teacher John Woodward applied for a grant from the Temple Education Foundation to purchase the equipment for the weather station.
