Temple Educators Go Above and Beyond in Math and Science Training

Temple ISD math and science teachers have taken a huge extra step to be highly trained, and to mentor other teachers.

The 11 current Temple educators were part of the Texas Regional Collaborative for Excellence in Science and Mathematics Training during the 2016-2017 school year.

Education Service Center (ESC) Region 12 recognized them along with 58 other area math and science teachers at a special ceremony held on Thursday, July 27.

Throughout the 2016-2017 school year, the teachers completed at least 100 hours of training.  They covered the latest techniques and methods for engaging students in math and science, and enhancing their overall learning in those subjects.

“You are my heroes,” said Joe Pirtle, ESC Region 12 board president. “Every day you make a difference in the lives of students. You are here today because you went the extra mile to improve your skills as an educator. Thank you for making Region 12 the best region in Texas.”
