Elementary students get involved through extra-curricular clubs

Western Hills Elementary School has a growing number of extracurricular clubs for students both before and after classes each day.

For students willing to show up in the early mornings, there is a dance team, and on separate afternoons,  students can attend a cooking club or a garden club. This year the school added a “Zen Kids” club to help students be more aware of their emotional and physical state, and an etiquette class that meets during the school day.

“Every year we add something,” Principal Kathy Cook said.
