Temple High School Theatre's one-act play (On the Verge) advanced to the UIL 5A Region Competition during the UIL 5A One-Act Play Area contest at Waco University High on March 28.
At the regional level, only 24 high schools remain in the annual UIL contest — and Temple is one of those 24. The Regional Contest will be April 13 at San Jacinto College Central, 8060 Spencer Highway, Pasadena, TX 77505.
Temple will perform 5th out of the six schools (around 5:20 p.m.) Two of the six schools will advance to the final contest — the Elite Eight at the state finals. Advancing with Temple were Lindale High School (Anna Karenina) and Whitehouse High School (Dancing at Lughnasa). All three advancing schools came from the same bi-district contest (17-5A and 18-5A).
Grace Mellette and Adara Felix were named to the Area All-Star Cast. Allision Quiroz was named to the Area All-Star Tech Crew.
