Temple will be represented once again the UIL 5A State Track and Field Meet in Austin as Xavier Johnson and Quentin Johnston advanced out of last weekend's regional competition in Humble.
Xavier took the gold medal in the boys 400. His time of 47.61 beat College Station's Jaelin Campbell by less than half a second.
The Tem-Cats Rhea Miles also ran extremely well in the 400, taking the bronze medal with a time of 58.82.
Quentin tied a competitor from Port Neches-Groves clearing the high jump bar at 6-6, and took the silver due to misses as lower heights.
State 5A field and running events will take place on Friday, May 11 at Mike A. Myers Stadium at the University of Texas at Austin.
