Safety and Security
Proposition A would generate funding for 10 additional police officers, dedicating a School Resource Officer (SRO) for every Temple ISD elementary campus.
Proposition A includes funding to replace commissioned police officers with academy-trained police officers who are authorized to coordinate with law enforcement and first responders.
Prop A also funds impact-resistant film on non-student facilities as required through new TEA safety standards, perimeter fencing on several campuses, courtyard/playground fencing, upgrades fire alarms, and replacement and additional security cameras.

Roughly 85% of the additional funding from the state is mandated for specific purposes, leaving the district without discretionary funding to address approximately $2.75 million in safety and security mandates. Proposition A provides funding to address these safety and security requirements. |
