Today, Governor Abbott issued an Executive Order GA 36 that requires the Texas Education Agency to revise their guidance to reflect the following:
“effective 11:59 p.m. on June 4 no student, teacher, parent or other staff member or visitor may be required to wear a face covering” in public schools.
With this executive order, Temple ISD will continue with our current protocols related to face coverings through June 4, 2021. To remain compliant with this order, starting June 5, 2021, face coverings will be optional for students and staff. Temple ISD will continue to encourage un-vaccinated adults to wear face coverings upon entering district facilities. We will be notifying parents today of this information.
