Dear Parents/Guardians,
We’re writing to let you know about an incident this (Monday, October 24) morning at a Temple ISD bus stop.
In the area of West Avenue L and 23rd Street, a couple of blocks north of Travis Science Academy, a Temple High School student reported that a man in an older white SUV asked her to get inside the vehicle.
When she refused, he reportedly parked, walked over to a nearby alley, and exposed himself.
We have reported this situation to the Temple Police Department, and they are investigating. We have also informed our bus drivers, and have extra personnel in this area monitoring the bus stops this afternoon.
We ask that you please talk with your children about bus stop safety, and the importance of never getting into a car with a stranger.
