Board hires Dr. Bobby Ott as Temple's next superintendent

Pen to paper, a few gifts, bursts of confetti streams, and it was official, Dr. Bobby Ott will serve as the next Superintendent of Temple ISD.

Temple's current Assistant Superintendent of Curriculum and Instruction was selected by the Temple ISD Board of Trustees after a lengthy search process that began last fall.

Ott was joined by his wife Nicole and daughters Jordan and Tatum.

Board President Steve Wright commented that Ott has served incredibly well for the last six years, and will continue moving Temple ISD in a positive direction.

Ott thanked his family, the board, Superintendent Dr. Robin Battershell and Temple's students, who he says have sent him messages of support and stopped him in the hallways since the announcement he was the finalist for the position.

Ott will take over as superintendent in June following Dr. Battershell's retirement.
