One of the best events of the year, the Wildcat Special Olympics track meet

Wildcat Stadium was filled with cheers as Temple High School’s student council hosted its annual Wildcat Special Olympics track meet Friday.

The event, which is not connected with the international Special Olympics organization, invites special education students from the around the district to come to the high school and compete in various track events.

Sierra White, 18, competed in the softball throw and the 50-meter walk. Her favorite was the softball throw.

“I thought I did great,” she said, noting it was fun.

Sierra’s grandmother, Jane Pierce, praised the competition.
