If the 2015 Bond passes on November 3rd (Early Voting Oct. 19-30), Temple ISD will construct a new Career & Technical Education (CTE) Center at Temple High School.
 
More than 80% of students at Temple High School take a CTE class, meaning more than 1,600 students pass through the CTE Center everyday.
 
Built in the early 1970's, the CTE Center was not constructed to handle the amount of students now taking classes inside of it.  A new CTE Center will provide facilities built for 21st Century instruction.

Temple ISD is partnering with local businesses and colleges to offer professional certifications and dual and articulated college credit that allows students to graduate from Temple High School, and immediately fill in-demand jobs in the Temple area.
Built in the early 1970's, the CTE Center at Temple High School is a pre-fab metal building. Now, more than 1,600 students attend class in this building each day, and outdated facilities do not match current instruction

Built in the early 1970's, the hallways in the CTE building are jam packed when classes change. A new facility will support increased student interest and a 21st Century Education.
Cosmetology classes have double the students than what this room was designed for. Also, a new facility will support increased modern equipment to better train students. Cosmetology students can take their state licensing exam as a graduating senior, and many graduates immediately begin working in local salons.
A new shop will allow for more space, tools, and areas for construction and instruction.
The bays are full in the CTE Automotive Technology area. Students work on cars daily, and with Dual Credit from Texas State Technical College they graduate and begin working at local dealerships and repair shops.
Enrollment is on the rise in the CTE Manufacturing Strand. Students earn professional certifications and dual college credit through Texas State Technical College, and through a partnership with TMS, Inc. are ready to fill in-demand jobs in Temple upon graduation from high school. Their current space is not large enough to hold the high tech, modern equipment our students need for training.
The Health Science lab is in a renovated shop classroom. With 5 professional certifications available for students to fill in-demand, local jobs upon graduation from high school, enrollment in Health Science classes is on the rise. A new CTE Center will provide classrooms built in partnership with Baylor Scott & White to train students in a simulated hospital, pharmacy or ambulance setting while they're at Temple High School.
A new CTE Center will eliminate all portable buildings at Temple High School.
