Travis Science Academy

If the 2015 Bond passes on November 3rd (Early Voting Oct. 19-30), Temple ISD will complete the master plan for Travis Science Academy.
 
Renovations will take place on the cafeteria and kitchen, and the stage, gymnasiums and locker rooms.  The fine arts areas will also be renovated and enlarged.
 
Much of the renovation on Travis Science Academy was completed in the 2011 Bond, including a new entrance and library, and major renovations in the halls, classrooms, and on the HVAC system.

The choir room is too small to meet the current needs, and is in a separate area from the rest of the fine arts.
Theatre classes take place in a science lab. If the 2015 Bond passes theatre will receive their own space, near the other fine arts classes.
If the 2015 Bond passes, the cafeteria will be renovated to meet the current student needs. Right now, the cafeteria is too small for the amount of students attending Travis Science Academy.
The orchestra room is behind the cafeteria, and is too small to meet the current needs.
This door is beyond the orchestra room, and leads into hallways that have never been renovated.
The gym is too small to meet current needs, and needs repairs on the floor and stage. If the 2015 Bond passes, Temple ISD will renovate this gym and stage. Additionally, students from Travis Science Academy will use the gym next door at the new Ralph Wilson Youth Club.
The court is worn out. It is lacking support, traction and has a number of dead spots.
The stage has not been renovated in 60 years. It is too small to meet current needs, and the floor, curtains and rigging are all in need of repairs
The curtains are 60 years old, and are torn in many places.
The locker rooms are shared by athletics and physical education classes. They are too small to meet the current student needs, and have very small showers with lockers behind the showers. This makes it hard for coaches to make sure students are behaving properly.
The band hall is too small to meet current student needs.
Equipment in the small gym, though worn out, is still in use.
